Architect Kris Lin's Innovative Design Wins Golden A' Design Award

Derived from the concept of show windows, the Jenga Box is a community commercial building that seamlessly integrates interior and exterior spaces. The façade along the street is designed to showcase the interior functions completely, creating a transparent and fuzzy spatial boundary. This design strategy results in a coherent and integrated visual experience, making the building appear like a shop window with exquisite and rich connotation in the city.

The unique properties of this design lie in its combination of GRC folding board and LED light belt that connects the building blocks in series on the façade. Under the interweaving language of arc curve and transparent glass, a simple and smooth visual appearance is presented. The three-dimensional space of the building highlights the freedom of the space through the interpenetration and torsion of the block, creating many vertical and parallel line angles.

The project started in December 2020 in Changzhou and was completed in August 2021. Despite the site's tight and narrow constraints, especially in the north, the design team successfully integrated architecture, interior, landscape, and lighting. The planning of the space conforms to the changes of the site, arranging and combining every functional space to meet the functional requirements through the organization of a reasonable spatial streamline.
